UNDERSTANDING IS THE KEY TO OVERCOMING
We help people in Chattanooga prevent, manage, and even reverse chronic problems such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and back pain.
While it is true that your body is full of mystery, it is also true that the body functions on consistent and knowable laws. It is not your destiny to live in fear of your body, enslaved by anxiety. Seeking knowledge and understanding of the laws that govern your body will help you defeat fear.
We all know that pain is normal, but what about pain that doesn’t seem normal? Unfamiliar pain can be unsettling, especially if it doesn’t go away. Sometimes, simply understanding the cause of your pain can bring relief. However, sometimes pain doesn’t go away. Persistent, non-life threatening pain is called chronic pain and can be very discouraging. Yet, even chronic pain can be managed and does not have to dominate your life.
Although it is true that physical wellness can be enhanced by living in harmony with the laws that govern the body, perfect physical fitness is not a prerequisite to healthiness. Some of the healthiest people on earth live with great physical limitations. Every person can obtain health by faithfully nurturing all the elements of their person, that is the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual.
At Moondog Therapy Partners we utilize a combination of Lifestyle Medicine and Manual Therapy to address a variety of physical ailments.
We use Lifestyle Medicine as the foundation to help people understand the laws that govern their body and use health coaching and behavior change techniques to help people live in harmony with those laws to restore health.
With the hands-on techniques of Manual Therapy, we directly address muscle and joint pain and restore functional movement to the body.
We help people achieve goals such as restoring a healthy body weight, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, or blood cholesterol levels. We work with you and your doctor to help you prevent, manage, or even overcome chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, or obesity.
We also help people with common orthopedic problems such as low back pain, shoulder pain, knee injuries, neck pain, or headaches. We are prepared to help you with any joint or muscle problem all the way from your TMJ to your big toe.

Jill believes that education and understanding are the key to overcoming fear and suffering and thus spends time with every patient helping them learn about their body. She recently expanded her passion for education into academia and now teaches Anatomy and Physiology at Southern Adventist University in addition to treating patients.
“Every person, to the best of their ability, has the right and responsibility to be the steward of their own body. People are intelligent and capable and should be treated as such. Happiness is a byproduct of healthiness, and healthiness begins with the awareness that you are in charge of yourself and your choices matter.” – Jill
